Campaigns
Rare Liver Diseases Month
Rare Liver Diseases Month is an all-inclusive, collaborative campaign that aims to promote awareness and education about a diverse range of rare liver diseases through discussions on health policies, education, and advocacy. Through the #RareAware campaign, GLI strives to streamline the rare patient experience by addressing barriers and challenges to patient access and care from the perspective of patients, families, and providers, even when these issues lie beyond the patients’ direct control.

Global Fatty Liver Day
Global Fatty Liver Day, formerly known as International NASH Day, is a public education campaign that was inaugurated in June 2018 to enhance awareness and emphasize the pressing nature of fatty liver disease, particularly its advanced stages, which impacts a staggering 115 million individuals worldwide.
Fatty liver disease, and its more advanced form, remains a concealed global epidemic. An estimated 357 million people will be affected by 2030. Because symptoms of fatty liver disease are often not overt, it is often underdiagnosed and underreported. Fatty liver disease is considered a major risk factor for concurrent conditions: more than 70% of patients are living with obesity, up to 75% have type 2 diabetes, and anywhere from 20-80% have hyperlipidemia. Unchecked, fatty liver disease may lead to cirrhosis, liver cancer, and liver transplant.

Liver Health is Public Health
Liver conditions are misunderstood, mischaracterized, and stigmatized, resulting in under- diagnosis, under-treatment, and unnecessarily poor outcomes around the globe.
In response to the need, the Liver Health is Public Health initiative will elevate liver health to its rightful place on the global public health agenda. Liver Health is Public Health will lead policymakers by the hand towards the Liver Health urgencies that need their attention. It will also educate the general public about liver health and disease prevention and will pave the way for best practices that account for differences in geography, health systems, access to care, culture, socioeconomic status, and concurrent disease prevalence.

#OctoberIs4Livers
The #OctoberIs4Livers campaign was created to unite the liver cancer community in a global conversation to raise awareness and drive progress against liver cancers. Rooted in the lived experiences of those impacted and informed by expert insight, the campaign focuses on four interconnected pillars: education, prevention, detection, and survivorship.
Join us this October, under the theme Know Your Risk, Know Your Options, as GLI brings forth a month full of webinars, educational resources, and community programs that center around liver cancer education, prevention, detection, and survivorship.
