GLOBAL POLICY

Global Health Governance in Geneva

United Nations Leadership on NCDs and Liver Health
GLI actively participated in the UN High-Level Meeting on Non-Communicable Diseases in New York City, in September 2025, advancing global momentum toward the formal recognition of Steatotic Liver Disease as an NCD. This work was reinforced by GLI’s leadership in organizing a dedicated working group to maintain high-level political attention on liver health and its impact on public health

European Policy Engagement

Engagement with the WHO Executive Board and Member States
GLI maintains a direct, trusted engagement with the WHO Executive Board through collaborations with multiple health ministries worldwide. We are actively contributing to the development of a forthcoming resolution on metabolic liver health, working to ensure sustained political commitment, policy coherence, and meaningful inclusion of patient priorities at the highest level of global health decision-making.
