October 15, 2026 – Global Liver Institute (GLI) and the Commonwealth Medical Association (CMA) have formalised a partnership through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), signed on October 1st at the CMA’s Longevity and Healthy Ageing Conference at the Commonwealth Secretariat in London. The partnership will advance liver health across Commonwealth countries and globally, integrating it into broader conversations on healthy ageing and population health.
The collaboration builds on discussions initiated at GLI’s UK Roundtable on Liver Health, held in spring 2026, following GLI’s Advanced Advocacy Academy (A3) UK. The roundtable convened stakeholders to identify opportunities to strengthen action on liver health. Through this collaboration, GLI and CMA will leverage their respective expertise and networks to elevate liver health as a public health priority and advance awareness, prevention, early detection, and coordinated action on liver disease.
“At GLI, we believe that meaningful progress in liver health requires strong, global partnerships that connect patients, clinicians, and policymakers,” said Larry R. Holden, President and Chief Executive Officer of Global Liver Institute. “This collaboration with the Commonwealth Medical Association represents an important step forward in elevating liver health within the global health agenda and ensuring that communities around the world benefit from greater awareness, earlier detection, and equitable access to care.”
Through this partnership, both organizations will work to strengthen the integration of liver health into broader health agendas and improve outcomes for communities across the Commonwealth and beyond.
