After a career serving the security and freedom of the US, Veterans often return home to face new and unique challenges to their well-being. In particular, given the heightened prevalence of risk factors for liver disease among Veterans, it is essential to be aware of the risks for liver disease and what steps to take to promote liver health.

has treated and cured more HCV patients than any other health care system in the United States.2
Liver transplants
are provided at 6 VHA centers across the country. 3
Nearly half
of patients in VA care in 2018 had at least one risk factor for cirrhosis.4
