Bosses Wear Burgundy
During the 2021 #OctoberIs4Livers campaign, we invited the world to join our boss, Global Liver Institute Founder Donna R. Cryer, JD, in demonstrating support for patients and families affected by liver disease around the world.
Donna R. Cryer, JD Founder
To me, as a 28-year liver transplant recipient, a lawyer, social impact entrepreneur, and leader of an international advocacy organization that both provides jobs for an expanding team of amazingly talented individuals and executes on a vision to improve the lives of millions of people at risk for or living with liver conditions, the #bosseswearburgundy campaign means that people stand up and recognize the importance of liver health, the seriousness of liver disease, the urgency of discovering treatments, and most importantly, the value and dignity of every liver patient. We have gone under recognized, underdiagnosed, undertreated, and over stigmatized for too long.
To honor the millions of people worldwide living with liver disease, bosses wear burgundy.
As a boss, you can show your support for liver health and liver patients by:
- Posting a picture of yourself on social media, wearing a burgundy tie, shirt, or scarf, using #BossesWearBurgundy #OctoberIs4Livers and invite others to join you.
- Encouraging donations to Global Liver Institute, a small nonprofit organization fighting every day for liver patients.
- Dismantling the stigma of liver disease, which has many causes. Only some are lifestyle-related, and even so, every patient deserves the best chance at a boss life.
